What are the requirements to participate in coaching? Express Interest
All interested faculty and staff wanting to participate in coaching must submit their interest through the online Interest Form . Once received, the information provided will be reviewed by the Learning Experience Team. If there are any questions regarding the submission, then a member of the team may reach out to the individual to gain more insight into their professional development needs. Once it’s determined that coaching is the best resource to meet an individual’s needs, the coachee will be provided with next steps, to include: • Reviewing the Coaching FAQs • Selecting a coach from the repository of coaches provided • Scheduling the initial coaching consultation with the selected coach • Completing the opening self-reflection Note : based on the needs expressed by the individual, alternative or additional developmental programming/resources may be recommended beyond coaching. Confirm Commitment The coachee will meet with their selected coach to discuss the coaching process, review the coaching agreements, and confirm their commitment to coaching. During this initial consultation conversation, they will work together to determine the preferred approach to selecting and scheduling future meeting/session dates, times, and modes (i.e. in-person or virtual), and ultimately all/other subsequent logistics. Optional Feedback/Assessment Information Though not required, the coachee may find that informal and/or formal feedback received from other sources about their behavior/performance may provide them with valuable information about themselves that can serve as a jumping off point for work with their coach. Feedback can be uncovered using the following practices/tools (this is not intended to be an all-inclusive list): • Feedback from an individual’s manager, peer(s), and/or direct report(s) • Past performance review ratings/feedback • Self-assessment tool results • Multi-Rater/360-degree feedback evaluation/inventory results • Assessment results o (e.g. Myers Briggs Type Indicator [MBTI], DiSC, Keirsey Temperament Sorter [KTS], Emotional Intelligence, Clifton's Strengths Finders, Hogan, etc.) • Class/Training participation (e.g. in-person, virtual, online, etc.) Should the coachee not have any type of feedback/assessment results as outlined above, and would prefer to leverage this type of information to form the basis for their coaching sessions, they can discuss this with their coach and determine what options might be available.
